Our development team just launched a shiny new version of the much loved Ebook Reader app for Android devices. And straight away we hit a major milestone: over 5 million user sessions in a single month.
The new build conforms to Android’s Material Design visual language, and does away with the 90s style wood-grain bookshelf. In its place is a slick, instantly intuitive reader platform that will delight devotees and even your granny can make sense of.
The new app can handle a much wider range of the weird and wonderful ebook files that publishers send us. While 99% of the files we receive are perfectly straightforward, there’s always that pesky 1% that can cause issues for users. The new build supports additional EPUB variants, and can cope with a wider variety of non-complaint files. All of which means that our users are encountering even fewer technical issues.
Now, all your notes, highlights and bookmarks are backed up in real time in our cloud platform, as well as on your device. The benefit being that you can skip from one device to another, and your annotations will be there each time you open the same book on a new device.
While Ebook Reader is perfect for reading the books you buy from eBooks.com, it is now a superb app for reading your own collection of EPUBs and PDFs.
The app has a useful feature that lets you arrange your ebooks into collections. You can create any number of collections, like “Economics” or “Top 10” or “Spanish”, etc.
Each iteration of our app includes a host of improvements in stability and usability. Why not try it here.
