One of the nicest things about an ebook is that it doesn’t have to live in one device or app. You might read a few chapters on your computer at work, continue on your phone on the way home, and pick the book up again later on another device. With our new mobile apps, we’ve made that experience seamless.

Your book follows you
Cosmic Sync keeps your reading activity synchronized between eBooks.com’s mobile apps and our Online Reader. And it happens in real time.
You can have a book open in the eBooks.com Online Reader on your desktop computer, with your phone sitting beside you. Add a bookmark on the computer and it appears on your phone. Make a highlight or add an annotation and, almost spookily, you’ll see it appear on the other device.
The same applies to your reading position. Put down one device and pick up another, and you can carry on reading without having to hunt for the page you were on.
More than just keeping your place
Cosmic Sync keeps the important parts of your reading experience together:
- Your reading position. Move from one device to another without losing your place.
- Your bookmarks. Mark something for later and find it again from your other devices.
- Your highlights. Highlight an important passage on one screen and it is there when you open the book elsewhere.
- Your annotations. Notes you make while reading stay with the book rather than with one particular device.
That last point can be especially useful for students, researchers and professional readers. You might do some serious reading and annotation on a large desktop screen, then review those same passages later on your phone.
From the big screen to the small screen
The synchronization isn’t confined to mobile devices. Our Online Reader is part of the same reading environment.
So you can read in a web browser on a desktop or laptop computer and then move directly to the eBooks.com app on your phone. Your reading doesn’t have to start again simply because your device has changed. The distinction between “reading on the web” and “reading in the app” disappears.
