It’s hard to tell if this is peculiar to eBooks.com, or just peculiar but, as this chart shows, people are still a lot happier buying ebooks on their computers than on a phone or tablet. In fact, 62% of our revenue is generated on computers.
One possible explanation for this seeming anomaly is that fiction is cheaper than non-fiction. And hence, you don’t need to sell so many technical or scholarly titles to match the income from consumer ebook sales. But it seems not. The chart below shows the number of purchase transactions completed during the same period and the picture holds true: Computers still account for 60% of our sales.
